Charities Consultancy

Lotteries to the Media

Working on the National Lottery impressed me with what charities and voluntary bodies can achieve for people and made me want to stay involved. Working with charities at the Charity Commission increased my respect for the independence of charities, for social enterprise and for the readiness of people to give time and money to causes they care about. But it also showed me that charities can need help themselves - technical expertise; skills in business planning; help to make sure that volunteers are well used and supported; governance; and sometimes objective practical and policy advice on things they feel passionately about.

My consultancy experience in this area ranges from running the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund to management and governance review. My expertise includes relationships with central and local Government and media handling, and I am able to call on a network of associates to provide specialist support in technical areas including grant-giving procedures and best practice. I am happy to discuss issues for possible attention with charities in confidence and without commitment.
